Off the Grid Camp in Montana

Posted in GETV Episode by ekai on the August 16th, 2006

Last week, GETV stepped into the wilds of Montana for Robert Scoble’s “Off the Grid” Camp. Even amongst geysers, big racked elk and boiling rivers there were geeks everywhere. Irina finds out who these geeks are and what they were thinking in stepping away from the computer for a few days.

[…] Geek Entertainment TV goes to Montana and Montana will never be the same. What was sad is that the horse that Irina was interviewing actually bit her after the camera was off. Damn, if we had a clip of that we’d be on the top of YouTube! […]

If it is not to much trouble, could you start posting episodes to YouTube also. Blip.tv has just been blocked by SMARTFILTER as “Spam Email URLs” and is now blocked for me. I sumbitted a request to remove the categorization. Maybe we all should. 🙂

[…] Working for a living.  The fine folks at off the grid and the Node101 BBQ taught us a lot over the last week or so.  We’ve been scrambling to include all of upgrades and so far I think we’re doing a bang up job.  We’re bound to have a few bugs… if you spot one please let us know, either through the contact page, or preferably by video comments (unless that’s the bug. heh heh).  […]

Just one request. Could you please put up an Ogg/Theora feed? You know …just to make us FOSS geeks feel better 😉

Yo, Irina is so off the hook! I liked the focus on the technology issues and lighthearted talk. Makes me want to look stuff up. Who’s the horse?

ekai: Thanks. I’d love to see a Ogg/Theora feed (=”podcast”), if it’s not too much trouble. :]

Hi Matija: I hear ya, and that is our plan to offer an RSS feed for ogg and other formats, though it may be a little while yet. We’re still getting our house in order with regards to formats. Thanks for sticking with us!
